11:00 AM - 3:00 PM - Vladem Contemporary
The New Mexico Museum of Art invites families to come to the beautiful new Vladem Contemporary each Sunday in June 2024—June 2, 9, 16, and 23—to have their FREE family portraits made by Artist-in-Residence, Alex Traube. No appointments are needed; first come, first served.
Traditional, blended, and self-defined families are all welcome. The first hundred participants will receive an individual Department of Cultural Affairs CulturePass, which admits a visit to each state museum and historic site.
On each of the four Sundays, Traube will host an open studio—11:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.—for whomever wants to have their family portraits made. In addition, Alex will welcome people to visit him in the studio on Wednesdays and Fridays, from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Alex will email digital copies of the portraits to whomever wants them. In addition, the photos will become part of a Family Photos / Fotos de Famílias website: traubephoto.com/families; some will be printed and hung in the Studio.
This residency is funded by a generous grant from the Frederick Hammersley Fund for the Arts at the Albuquerque Community Foundation and hosted by the New Mexico Museum of Art Vladem Contemporary.
Participating families, please check in at the Vladem front desk when arriving at the museum.
