Studio Workshop: Paper marbling with Tom Leech

Taught by Tom Leech, this course will familiarize students with the traditional patterns of marbled paper and provide the basic instruction and hands-on experience for creating them. The description and use of the tools and materials will be covered. Students will “graduate” with an appreciation of the history and mystery of this centuries-old craft. The class is limited to 8 participants. All materials will be provided and are included in the class fee.
Tom Leech has been marbling for nearly forty years and is recognized world-wide as a leading practitioner of the craft. His work was recently added to the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Paper Legacy Project. He directed the New Mexico History Museum’s Press at the Palace of the Governors from 2001 through 2021.
