Will Shuster is best remembered today as the creator of Zozobra, the legendary marionette effigy that burns every fall for the Santa Fe Fiesta. Visitors to this open house will get to see the many sides of Shuster – artist, husband, World War I veteran, friend and all around merry maker. The New Mexico Museum of Art owns a comprehensive collection of Shuster’s archives that includes his journals, military records, handwritten letters, photographs of the burning of Zozobra and other documentation of local celebrations Shuster was involved in.
