Free, public opening reception for the Folio and two complementary exhibitions, Stage, Setting, Mood: Theatricality in the Visual Arts and Medieval to Metal: The Art & Evolution of the Guitar. Refreshments will be provided and there will be live music by Música Antigua de Albuquerque.
Música Antigua de Albuquerque was founded in 1978 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and performs music of the medieval, Renaissance and Baroque eras, with voices and period instruments. In addition to performing regular concerts in both Albuquerque and Santa Fe, the ensemble gives frequent lecture-demonstrations of early music and instruments to a variety of audiences. In 2002, the Albuquerque Arts Alliance presented Música Antigua its Bravo Award for Excellence in Music. The group has received grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, New Mexico Arts, the New Mexico Endowment for the Humanities, the McCune Charitable Foundation, the New Mexico Quincentenary Commission, the Santa Fe Arts Commission, and the Albuquerque Community Foundation.
