Barefoot or in boots, that's how I spent my childhood riding the then undeveloped valleys of Southern California. I had my first pair of boots when I was three years old, followed by many more through my youth. Now, decades later, my boots are for dancing, but every time I pull them on, I am transported to my earlier years and the freedom of riding through open range.
